Trades Assistant

Recruitment 24/7 has a vacancy for a Trade Assistant for our client based in Acacia Ridge. Our Client is a family-owned and operated steel fabrication workshop. Our Client manufactures custom equipment for the Earthmoving and Construction Industries.

This position is ongoing, working a standard 38-hour week. The hours for this position are 7:00am – 3:00pm Monday to Friday. Following a probationary period, a long-term placement will be on offer to the right candidate.

Our client is a fabrication and engineering workshop, so experience in a similar role is highly advantageous. All relevant training will be provided.

Pay rates start at $30.10 an hour, however, a higher rate may be negotiated depending on skills and experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Forklift Operation – loading and unloading trucks
• Grinding, painting, packing and strapping of all outgoing goods
• Perform small size oxy cutting of plate steel (oxy cutting experience preferred)
• General steel workshop duties

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Have the ability to read an interpret customer dispatch details & hand mark goods to match
• Have experience using overhead gantry cranes
• Have experience operating a forklift and hold a current LF Forklift Licence
• Have your own PPE and reliable transport to get to Acacia Ridge
• Have pride in your work, and possess the ability to work well in a team
• Be fit and healthy
