Employment Type: Casual with a View to Permanent Employment
Payrate: $65/hr Casual

Our client is a well‑established construction company with decades of experience delivering quality projects across Brisbane, Ipswich, and South East Queensland. Known for their high standards, clear communication, and strong industry relationships, they are now seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Building Estimator to support continued business growth.

The Role

This position is initially offered on a casual basis for up to 6 months, with the intention of transitioning into a permanent role for the right candidate.

You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders, reviewing project documentation, and supporting delivery teams during quieter tender periods. Projects range up to $15 million across commercial, residential, industrial, and refurbishment sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering & Estimating

• Prepare and submit tenders for projects up to $15M
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and addendums
• Complete accurate quantity take‑offs using PlanSwift or similar software
• Obtain, assess, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Set up tender submissions in client‑specified formats
• Prepare tender writing, supporting documentation, and submission packages
• Respond to RFIs and tender clarifications
• Export and format tender information for Excel and project/financial systems

Systems, Filing & Administration

• File tenders and documentation in internal systems
• Maintain organised tender records and communication logs
• Receive training in internal estimating and management platforms

Project Support

• Assist Contract Administration and Project Administration teams when not actively tendering

About You

You will be well suited to this role if you have:

• Experience in estimating or a similar role within the construction industry
• Strong attention to detail with analytical capability
• Familiarity with PlanSwift or other take‑off tools (desirable, not essential)
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently or collaboratively
• A proactive, team‑focused approach
