Trainer / Assessor – Waste Industry Operations

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Trainer / Assessor to support operator training and competency development within the waste industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled industry professional who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting safe, compliant plant operations.

About the Role

As a Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical training to plant operators, ensuring competency, compliance, and safety across site operations. You will work closely with operational teams to assess skills, provide coaching, and support ongoing workforce development in a real-world waste environment.

Key Requirements

• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent – essential)
  
• Strong industry experience within waste, civil, or heavy plant environments
  
• Demonstrated experience delivering operator training and competency assessments
  
• High commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance
  
  Preferred Tickets & Experience
  
• Moxy / articulated dump truck
  
• Dozer
  
• Excavator
  
• Grader
  
  Tickets are highly desirable, particularly within active waste or landfill operations.
  
  Key Responsibilities
  
• Deliver on-site training and assessments for mobile plant and equipment
  
• Conduct competency reviews, gap training, and refresher courses
  
• Ensure training aligns with safety standards, site procedures, and regulations
  
• Maintain accurate training and assessment records
  
• Provide practical coaching and mentoring to operators
  
• Support a strong safety-first and compliance-driven culture
