Production Supervisor – Workshop/Manufacturing

Salary $90,000 - $115,000 Depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate workshop operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will oversee daily workshop activities, manage production staff, and ensure all work is completed on time, within budget, and to established quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Operations

Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, ensuring all safety procedures are followed

Oversee the condition and upkeep of workshop facilities and equipment

Utilise production and scheduling systems to manage workflow effectively

Production & Scheduling

Plan, allocate, and monitor work to meet agreed production schedules

Ensure build times are achieved and minimise non-productive hours

Monitor job progress and ensure completion to required standards and deadlines

Respond promptly to internal and customer enquiries

Team Leadership

Supervise and support production staff, fostering a positive team environment

Provide clear direction and ensure alignment with operational goals

Contribute to team engagement and continuous improvement initiatives

Assist in training and development of team members

Resource Management

Ensure efficient use of materials, tools, and equipment

Monitor stock levels and workshop resources

Attend and contribute to team meetings and training sessions

Compliance & Quality

Ensure all work complies with WHS, quality, and environmental standards

Conduct quality control checks and ensure adherence to agreed specifications

Maintain accurate records including job tracking, timekeeping, and production data

Report and manage incidents, hazards, and safety issues

About You

You are a proactive and hands-on leader with strong organisational skills and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Skills & Experience

Experience supervising operations in a workshop or manufacturing environment

Strong ability to plan workflows, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines

Demonstrated leadership and team management capability

Experience with production scheduling and process improvement

Sound knowledge of workplace health & safety practices

Technical Capability

Ability to manage production output, budgets, and resources

Experience in quality control processes and compliance standards

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Accurate data management and reporting ability

Qualifications

Relevant trade or technical qualification (essential)

Previous supervisory experience (preferred)

Current driver’s licence; forklift licence and safety certifications advantageous
