HR Truck Driver – Immediate Start – Richlands, QLD

Position Title: HR Truck Driver
Location: Richlands, QLD
Pay Rate: $35/hr Flat Rate (casual)
Hours: Full-time, ongoing – Monday to Friday, 6.15am – 4.00pm
Employment Type: Temporary, casual
Start Date: Immediate/ASAP

Position Purpose:

Are you an experienced HR Truck Driver looking for a new role to thrive in? Apply now to join our Client’s leading tree and vegetation management crew! The HR Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy rigid (HR) vehicles to transport equipment, materials, and green waste for tree vegetation maintenance projects, operate water trucks and general truck driving duties. This role supports field crews by ensuring timely delivery and collection of resources while adhering to all safety, environmental, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate HR trucks to transport machinery, tools, and vegetation waste between job sites and depots.
  • Operate water trucks to maintain and water new and existing plantations
  • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and materials, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
  • Perform daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Comply with all traffic laws, company policies, and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, trip sheets, and vehicle inspection records.
  • Support vegetation crews with site setup and pack-down as required.
  • Report any vehicle faults, incidents, or hazards promptly to the Fleet Manager.
  • Uphold workplace health and safety standards and environmental guidelines.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Driver’s License.
  • Proven experience operating HR vehicles in a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge of load restraint and safe handling practices.
  • Understanding of CoR and fatigue management regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in tree vegetation maintenance or related industries.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
  • First Aid Certificate.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and secure loads safely.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
