About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Leading Hand to join a busy production and manufacturing team in Bundamba. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone with strong manufacturing or assembly experience who enjoys leading by example, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving team performance.

As the Leading Hand, you will oversee daily workshop operations, support production staff, ensure safety and quality compliance, and assist in achieving production targets and customer delivery deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and support production and assembly team members.
  • Coordinate daily workshop activities to ensure production schedules are achieved.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure all work meets required specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
  • Assist with assembly and manufacturing tasks as required.
  • Ensure all resources, tools, equipment and materials are used efficiently.
  • Identify and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with management to achieve operational and production goals.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting relating to production activities.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, quality systems, policies and procedures.

    What We're Looking For

    Essential:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, fabrication or assembly environment.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a workshop or production setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Relevant trade qualification or technical qualification.

    Preferred:
  • Australian Driver's Licence.
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement processes.
