Fitter & Turner / Machine Operator

Recruitment 24/7 has 2 x vacancies for a Fitter and Turner / Machine Operator for our client based in the Western Suburbs Region.

Recruitment 24/7 is looking for a candidate who has experience operating various machines assisting in the process of turning, milling, fabrication, surface griding and slotting. This position is for an agreed period of one month with the opportunity to be considered for further work in the future with our established engineering client.

The working hours are 6:00am-2:00pm, with a competitive rate on offer for the right candidates.

The ideal candidate for the position will have a minimum of 5 years experience in:

• Assembling and or fabricating components using trade skills from the specifications in technical drawings
• Set up and operate machines and ensure the accurate assemble, maintenance and repair of components for heavy machinery
• Perform manual machining operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, broaching, and conventional milling and lathe work using various engine lathes
• Understanding materials and their various applications to complete job
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment

Additionally, you must:

• Hold an Australian recognised trade certificate in Fitting and Turning
• Have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Have the ability to work without supervision and autonomously
